EFFECTS OF QUITTING A SPORT ON GRADES

Sport has many different effects on both the body and the mind, playing a huge role in body health.
Participating in a sport is greatly beneficial to the body but what happens if participating in a sport takes away enough of your time to impact your grades. This will examine what effect participating in a sport will have on your grades and how quitting a sport will effect your grades.

According to data gathered roughly 70% of all people participate in a sport while 21% of all people have participated in a sport but quit recently. The vast majority (65%) of people who participate in a sport have participated for more than 5 years.

In terms of grades about 30% of people found an noticeable improvement in their grades after quitting while approximately 66% of people found no noticeable improvement to their grades at all. on the other side of the coin approximately 4% of people found their grades dropping after quitting a sport.

The people who have quit sports mostly quit because ether they did not have enough time(37%) or there was another reason to quit the sport(42%). the remaining 21% left because they did not enjoy the sport.

From these results you can see that it would be more effective to stay in sport as the benefits of continuing to participate outweigh the gains from quitting.
